4 to 46lb In Just 3 Hours
A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to visit a tricky public day ticket water near my home in Belgium. Only having a couple of hours at my disposal I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Arriving in the afternoon I was surprised that no other anglers were there.
The big advantage was that the swim I had in mind was free and shortly after my 2 rods were in position. On both spots I threw a handful of Club Mix freebees and snowman hook baits were presented over the top. Because I only had a few hours to fish I didn't want to use too much bait. I was fishing for a single bite.
Incredibly, over the next three hours I landed three carp; two low twenties and a 33lb mirror. I was really surprised how quick the Club Mix did the bsuiness.
Just before closing time my left handed rod produced another bite. This time I could tell that it was one of the lake's bigger fish. Once the fish slipped in to the landing net, I immediately recognized him as the long mirror. This old warrior has been on record for many years now and with a weight of 46lb he’s still going strong.
It was indeed a mad afternoon, one that I will not forget. All fish fell for a semi stiff rig with snowman presentation of both Club Mix bottom bait and 14mm Club Mix pop up together with a Stronghold 101 size 6 hook.
