Max Reichard joined the Solar Tackle field tester team when we launched the online project in August 2015. Since then he has consistently provided great catch reports, feedback on the baits and been a very pro-active field tester. As such, in March 2016, Max has been made part of the Solar Tackle core team.
Max says: "I started fishing at the age of 4 with my grandfather. We had own carp farm, so I was interested in carp right from the start. At the age of 10 I had my first experience with catching bigger carp after fishing a little river not far from our family home called the Altmühl. Ever since then I've been addicted to big-carp fishing.
"After 'cutting my teeth' for a few years on the river I moved on to join a few big lakes near my home town. I didn't catch anything the first year on those lake (it was a big step), but I continued through my second year and started to catch steadily. It was a steep learning curve, but a great experience.
"I am now 8 years further on, and I've enjoyed countless catptures of carp up to 46lb. More recently I have moved on to targeting big, rock-hard gravel pits, as the challenge and the eventual results are really what gets me going.
"However, the size of the carp still is not the most important aspect for me, as the challenge, improving my skills and spending time on the bank among nature are the best pleasures of carp fishing."
