Job Summary:
The Head of Product Development will lead the Product Development team at Solar Tackle, overseeing the creation and enhancement of our product lines. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic direction of our product offerings, ensuring they meet market demands and align with our brand’s high standards. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic vision, managing the entire product lifecycle from conception to market launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive product development strategy that aligns with Solar Tackle’s overall business objectives.
- Innovation: Adopt a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the development of cutting-edge products that set new industry standards.
- Project Management: Oversee all stages of product development, from initial concept and design through to production and market release, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive products, using insights to guide product development decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and existing customer base to ensure seamless product development and launch processes.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous testing and quality assurance protocols to ensure all products meet Solar Tackle’s high standards of performance and durability.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring that all components and materials meet our quality and cost requirements.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the product development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product development team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Customer Focus: Engage with customers and the angling community to gather feedback and insights, ensuring our products meet and exceed customer expectations.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in product development preferably within the fishing tackle or outdoor sports industry.
