Should angling be an Olympic event?
 
It’s more popular that synchronized swimming, is enjoyed and practiced by millions globally and being part of the Olympics would give angling a huge boost in recognition and funding. So, why not?
 
Well, a submission of an official application to be part of the biggest sporting spectacle in the World was submitted last month. In a bid to convince the Olympic committee that fishing should be officially recognized as a sport the international match angling’s governing body CIPS put together a huge case study and, if angling is given the go ahead to be officially recognized a sport then it could be considered for inclusion in future Olymipcs.
