Welcome to the Solar Tackle Web site.
Before starting Solar, I was making bits and pieces for myself and friends that
would not let them down. The tackle
would be a joy to fish with and put as
many fish on the bank for my friends
as I would hope for myself.
I still have that outlook, only this time
I've a lot more friends out there and
they all want exactly the same thing.
The goal remains the same. Solar
design products to make angling more
interesting, enjoyable and also more
successful. How do we do it?
Because here at Solar we are all
anglers, it's as simple as that!
Our belief is that by the time a product
reaches the shelves, we already know
what you want; because it's exactly
what we want too!
We've gained respect and credibility by our attention to detail, with no corner cutting to sacrifice quality or performance.
Club kebab anyone?
16th May 2008
During a two week session at the famous French venue Rainbow Lake 'Lucky' Lockey lived up to his nickname by landing a 63lb Mirror on what Martin describes as his 'kebab' rig.
Translated that means two 14mm Club Mix boilies seperated by a 8mm Dairy Cream boilie on a long hair so that there's a 5mm gap between all the baits. The 'kebab' rig creates a real mouthful for the carp and when combined with a size 1 Solar Stronghold Longshank hook it proved too much of a mouthful to be ejected easily!
So far Martin's lost 1 fish in 6 trips to Rainbow when using the Stronghold's, for anyone whose ever fished this tough venue you'll realise that that's high praise indeed for the hooking potential of these hooks.
caught on a Club Kebab (what was that again Martin?)
